Tommy, Could you send me that address for that Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary and also what they charge for providing this service? I have me great-grandmother Evalyn May (McNutt) Schreiner's obituary and the Thornhill-Dillon Chapel was mentioned as being the place of the funeral service held by Dr. Ben Morris Ridpath for her in Aug 1947. I have been told by several family members that she was a midwife but cannot seem to get any solid proof of it. She lived at 121 Byers part of the time in Joplin and Gray Avenue another part of her time there. They moved to Joplin a little after 1920. She was buried as Osborne Memorial cemetery. That is about as much as I know of her from her time in Joplin. I have quite a bit though from her earlier days in Des Moines, Iowa. It would be interesting to see what show up on the card form the mortuary. Here are a list of her Pallbearers in case anyone is looking for these people: Hilton Taylor Carl Getz William Kluseman Howard Burnett William Hoake and Arthur Humbard.
