This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Robinson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/2919 Message Board Post: On April 22, 1890 my greatgrandfather James Robinson died in Carthage Missouri. He was buried in Park Cemetary three days later. According to an audio tape recorded in 1955 by his son (my grandfather) he died after contacting a highly contageous disease while he and his two oldest sons worked at a fair in Carthage. James died within 3-5 days after contacting the disease. My grandfather said several other people died also I have been unable to obtain an obit, death certificate or other information about the incident. Can you help by doing a lookup or point me to sources that will shed light on the incident and his death? At some earlier date James and his wife Margaret migrated to Carthage from central Illinois. James hauled freight between Carthage and Joplin.
I did a search on the web and found this address and phone number for Park Cemetery: 801 S Baker Blvd, Carthage, MO 64836 Phone (417) 358-4534 I have relatives buried there but I've never been there myself. A volunteer got me a copy of the interment card for one of my ancestors that the cemetery had on file. Maybe they can provide this for you too.
