    3. No, I can't. But I can give you this impossibly long link for a larger map: http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapsurfer?infact=2&outfact=2&act=move&on=places&on=streets&on=interstate&on=statehwy&on=street_names&on=ushwy&tlevel=-&tvar=-&tmeth=i&mlat=37.29639&mlon=-94.30556&msym=bigdot&mlabel=&murl=&lat=37.29639&lon=-94.30556&wid=0.360&ht=0.130&conf=mapnew.con Mike On Sat, 21 Jan 2006, [email protected] wrote: >Can you tell me what street or road to turn on , to get to Paradise. >I will be coming from Neosho to Joplin on HWY 71 >Thanks >[email protected] >

    3. Mike, Have you run onto Lat-Long.com site. It can be really good or a complete zero. http://www.lat-long.com/ Check this out. http://www.lat-long.com/Missouri/cemetery.html enter Paradise, for this example, into the search feature. If more than one cemetery is found they will all appear. They only have one Paradise Cemetery. Click on it. The map that comes up has 2 options, Satellite and Hybrid. The Hybrid is, for this purpose, the best. (Satellite alone, as with GNIS and TopoZone often confuse me.) Click on Hybrid then zoom in using the + . I'm sure you don't need this detailed instructions, but it may help someone else. The directional arrows allows you to see the entire area map. Using the down arrow, it looks as if north of Carthage one could get on the other road that seems to run along the west side Hwy 71 and get to the cemetery without having to figure out the interchange. What do you think? I've already sent them this link, but I hadn't followed the other road back then. I haven't been in that area for many, many, years, so I don't remember it at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~ According to the 2 Cemetery Lists I have of Jasper County cemeteries: Continue on 71 past Joplin and Carthage. PARADISE: Northwest corner junciton Hwy 71 and Rte M Road (Base Line Road); north of Carthage, south of Jasper. (Their spellings) another one PARADISE: Start at intersection of Hwy 71 and State Route M south of Jasper. Cemetery located in the north west corner of intersection. They do agree on Route M, however this map has State Hwy N written on it, which is still Base Line Blvd. I'm changing it to M, as that's apparently correct. I just noticed, my map is on 4 pages, 2 top and 2 bottom, when fit together and overlapped as needed, I have the complete map except there's no legend. Paradise Cemetery is on the end of each one. The page west of Paradise Cemetery is indeed M, while the page East of Paradise Cemetery was a writo N. ~~~~~~~ Everyone should write this information down somewhere. If you are interested in Jasper County these can be the folks to contact. They have been most helpful. For their records, they'd like a written request even though they do help over the telephone. They can find the needed information Book Page etc. to get your request at the courthouse handled more swiftly. Steve Weldon, who has helped me, is very good. 3. Mike and everyone, On the Lat-Long map, it seems that is MO M to the west of the Hwy 71 interchange, and MO N to the east. I don't know about you all, but I'm directionally handicapped enough without them confusing me with one road having 2 different alpha letters. I'm used to streets changing names at County and State lines, but I can't help but wonder the reason here. Orlena Orlena <[email protected]> wrote: Mike, Have you run onto Lat-Long.com site. 3. Hi Orlena, Again, you have come thru for another user on this list! :) As to the Lat-Long map showing M on one side and N on the other, that is USUALLY how the county designates the roadways. Having driven down to Kansas a number of times, and also going over to Joplin from Pittsburg, you will notice when driving on the highways that the roads are shown with one number or letter on one side, and another letter AFTER/BEFORE that one on the other. Hope this helps you from getting confused when driving again. lol Ron in Iowa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Orlena" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2006 1:46 PM Subject: Re: [MOJASPER] Paradise Cemetery > Mike and everyone, > > On the Lat-Long map, it seems that is MO M to the west of the Hwy 71 > interchange, and MO N to the east. > > I don't know about you all, but I'm directionally handicapped enough > without them confusing me with one road having 2 different alpha letters. > > I'm used to streets changing names at County and State lines, but I can't > help but wonder the reason here. > > Orlena > > Orlena <[email protected]> wrote: > Mike, > > Have you run onto Lat-Long.com site.
