He lived in Carterville which is about 2-3 miles from Hercules. He was a machinist there in 1946 when my fahter in law went to work there. He thought he retired abt 1950's. He recieved acid burns while trying to repair a broken acid line at the plant. As far as Doc Stailey he does not remember him . Maybe he had already left before 1946. He said that there was also a Hercules plant in Ca and maybe he worked there. Or it is early in the morning and maybe he will call me later and say I remember Doc Stailey. BUt he has a pretty good memory of all that have worked there from 1946- 1986. The man that lost his life in 1970 was Kenny Ferrer (?) . He wasn't sure how to spell the last name. Hope this helps.
