    3. He seems to have just walked away from his first family Your fellow is not the only one to do that. My ancestor left his wife while she was pregnant with his second child (just because he thought the child was not his); and he married a young 'chick' nearby and had 13 more children. His brother went west leaving behind a wife & 14 'kids' just to get away from the hard feelings of the Civil War in MO. and none in the family wanted to go with him. His pension did go to his 1st wife. His obituary suggests that he married again out west. I really appreciate it. My line is from his first wife. I've been trying to find information on what happened to his second wife and the kids from that marriage. He seems to have just walked away from his first family - three boys and a girl. His wife died in Childbirth and he put the kids with their maternal grandparents and moved on. In his Civil War records he doesn't even mention his first wife, but does at least mention the kids! I was hoping an obituary might have more information on his second family. Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it! **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
