The Frances listed in the 1850 census appears to be Noah Stanley's second wife (Frances Bennet). They were married January 26, 1845. Frances' son Noah Bennett is living in the household in the 1850 census. They are in Coon Creek, Jasper Co. in 1860, but my Noah Bennett is probably married. Anyone know where he went? It is believed that Frances Bennet Stanley was married to my Joseph Bennett and had son Noah Bennett. Joseph died between 1840-1835 in an accident at his mill on the Eleven Point River. Does anyone has any more information on this family? I welcome info on the Stanley and Bennett family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. You could go directly to the Courthouse, but being able to tell them exactly what records you want Book and Page seems to speed up the process. It's also cheaper to just get xerox copies instead of stamped and certified, unless you think you might need the legal proof sometime. Yes, they may have divorced, but they may have also remarried. The certificate has him married, Rilma as his wife's name, then has the informant as Rilma Wiggins. It might be possible that the two Rilma's are not the same person. But the certificate, you would hope, would be correct that he was actually married, at the time of his death, to a Rilma.
