Was your Theodosia connected with the Charboneau's out of Kansas? John

I really know nothing other than the name and that he was from Missouri. ----- Original Message ----- From: <RachelC918@aol.com> To: <MOJASPER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 7:12 AM Subject: Re: [MOJASPER] Theodosia Bigley > In a message dated 2/4/02 11:24:43 PM Central Standard Time, > LBonstein@msn.com writes: > > << I am not sure. To the list - The name that you are looking for is Roy Mayes and I think that his son is still very active in the company . My father worked for Roy Mayes, Sr. for several years in the Carthage Marble Corp. After Roy, Sr. died, Roy Mayes, Jr took over. Don Yankie, formerly of Carthage, MO
The Hornet community is three houses on a corner right on the Oklahoma/Missouri line....LOL...But if you take exit 4 off I-44, and go south on hwy 43 to B highway, turn right, go to the end of the road and turn right again, you will be pretty close to the cemetery....Just stop and ask someone.... > >Hello list. >I am new to the list and decided to jump right in. >My gggrandmother was buried in the Hornet Cemetery. Hello list. I am new to the list and decided to jump right in. My gggrandmother was buried in the Hornet Cemetery. She is Margaret Atkins and her dates were 1837-1903. My questions are: where is the Hornet Cemetery located? What community is it close to? Is there a chance that I might acquire a death certificate for her and where would I do that?? There are three other Atkins buried in the same cemetery and I would like to get their death certificates as well...so this is a start. Thank you in advance for your help! Barbara in San Diego

I just had a note today about Minta May from a fellow May kin who had heard from Minta's great grandson. I have written him and am waiting for a reply. A big breakthrough. Thanks again for all of your help and suggestions! Barbara
Hi Jerry, I am not sure. Her maiden name was Charboneau and then married William Bonstein II, who died in 1911. They had 2 sons Karl And William III. She then married a Carl Bigley. There may or may not have been children from this union. There is a picture showing her holding a baby and I think another baby at her side. She died abt. 1915 . Is any of this familiar to you? I am the daughter of Karl who is still living at the age of 92 and he does not remember there being anymore children, but he can't say for sure as he was only 4 or 5 yrs. of age. Listers! I have just found a letter to my grandmother, Minnie Simon May from her nephew, Lloyd May and wife, Marie dated Dec 22, 1970, mailed from Carthage, Missouri. In it he states they had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary that year. Meaning they would have married in 1920. Their address was 309 W. Mound, Carthage, Mo 64836. I wonder if anyone could check their records for this family. He had brothers named Raymond and Roy, and sisters Minta, and Mina. He is the son of William Lester May of Kansas. Also now have letters from Minta May Kyser of Seattle, Washington Dec 18 , 1971 and Raymond May of Beaverton, Oregon dated Dec 17, 1971. Looking good.. or at least better..... Thanks for any help you can give me. Barbara Driver Beaumont, Texas

Daniel G. Jones was born in 1851 in MO. He's listed on the 1870 and 1880 census of Jasper Co., MO., in Jackson and Union twps. respectively. On the 1880 census it is recorded that his parents were born in Tennessee. Daniel Greenbury Jones was listed as an 18 year old single white male, in the home of a man named George Warden on the 1870 census. George Warden's wife's name appears to be written as "Sorilla". Was this wife of George Warden, the Nancy F. (Jones) Warden that you referred to as a daughter of John Jones? Or is there some other connection between the John Jones that you mentioned, and Daniel Greenbury Jones, husband of Mary Martha Hicks (dau. of William and Hester Hicks)?
