    2. Candace Cox
    3. Could someone help me out? I'm trying (with no success) to find my gr grandparents in the 1920 census. I know where they lived - I just can't figure out where it was among the numerous census enumeration districts. They were the Herman Jones family, and they lived east of downtown Joplin on East 7th Street. Their house (still there) is on the south side of East 7th and just past the Duquesne City Limit sign. Or, another way of putting it is they lived on East 7th just west of what is now the East 7th Street/Duquesne Road intersection. Thanks - Candy Cox

    1. Re: [MOJASPER] Unusual given names
    2. I've tried to research my own first name and have found none other than mine in anything other than what I have posted on the internet. Unusual first names, even when you find a "few" otheres are absolutely intriguing as to their origin. I have no idea as to the orgin of mine. Of course, if anyone out there knows I would love to hear about it. 3. Robin The LDS records show a James Lawless married Briget Galvin in 1859 in St Louis MO. Have you checked out the Lawless Family Genealogy Forum at Genealogy.com? There is a lot of recent activity there. I'll look at the earlier census records when time permits. Good luck. 3. Marlow, The only one I have is James Lawless and he is related to the ones in MO and Illinois. I am trying to find out which ones, (probably all of them). I know some of them lived in southeastern Mo because grandma has told me the family briefly lived over there close to some relatives while the father worked in the area. Thanks so very much I really appreciate your help. James B. Lawless was my gggrandfather and he showed up here in Livingston county Ky from parts unknown and all we know is that he had family in ILL and MO. Anything on the Lawless family could help me link him to folks in that state. I had posted because I was told there were some in the Jasper county area? It was probably prior to 1850 as they showed up in my area around 1850-1860 and start showing up on my census records. However they probably still had family left in the MO area. See if any show up before 1850. I about convinced that we are related to the Benjamin Lawless set, they also spell it Lollis, Loless, Lolless and so on too.
