    3. Technically, I suppose your description is correct but it is easier top place the cemetery if you think of it as being past the hospitals on Maiden lane...Maiden lane turns into McClelland Blvd at 32nd street..Osbourne cemetery shows up shortly after you past that intersection.... >Date: Fri, 15 Mar 2002 13:07:04 EST > >Trying to locate Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, Jasper County MO. >area. >Is it the large cemetery south of Scheffendecker Park in west Joplin? >BigMo040@AOL.com, > _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

    3. Hi Jerry, My Gr. Gr. Grandfather Ambrose Adkinson, b. 1835, NC; his brother John Adkinson, b. 1830, NC, and their mother Margaret, b. 1802, NC, were on the 1860 Census in Medoc, Jasper CO, MO. The I880 Census, Big Creek Twp, Taney CO, MO shows Ambrose and John with their families in their own separate residences. By 1900 Big Creek Twp., Taney CO Census Ambrose is gone (we presume dead) , John is listed with his family and now spelling his last name Atkinson as it continued to be spelled. We have a lot on John, his wife Miranda and their family in Taney County. However, we do not have much on Ambrose, when and how he died, where he is buried, and the whole Adkinson/Atkinson family before they came to MO. Any help would be appreciated. Marilyn California

    2. Jerry, Were your Adkins in Jasper and Newton Counties for the 1900 census? I have Wyatt, son of Owen who had a brother Owen and son Wyatt Jr in Cass and Bates Counties before and during the 1830's. Those names are used so frequently because of maiden names Owen and Wyatt in earlier generations that it is difficult to keep track. Wyatt Jr even named sons Wyatt and Owen. 3. Yes they were! This is the same family. I have at least 50 Wyatts and at least 40 Owens in my database. I have a huge file of Adkins/Atkins/Atkinson folks. They were already in the area in 1870. My direct line folks were in Granby, Newton Co. My great-great-grandparents, Andy Hutson and Ann Adkins, were married in White Co., TN, before moving to McDonald Co., then up to Granby where brothers Wyatt and Owens' families were. I am looking for as much information about their heirs as possible. They tie to the Hutson, Johnston, Stacey and other area families. Jerry J. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Pigg, Smith, McDowell, Rinehart, Rosevear, Stillwell, Gorby, Chance,Rucsh Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1MB.2ACI/1942 Message Board Post: Looking for any info or descendents from John William Smith, his son John Walker Smith who married Cassie Smith in Smith Co., TN, they moved to MO where some of there children were born then moved on to Polk Co, then Linn Co, then finally Gilliam Co , Oregon. John Walker & Cassie (Smith) Piggs children: Lucy Alice(abt 1865) & John William were born(I believe) in Smith Co., TN, then Margaret Ann(Maggie) was born(1869) in Joplin, Jasper Co., MO. Then Rosa(Rosie)(1883), Tennesse(Tennie) & Effie Grace(1885) were born in Mayville, Gilliam Co., OR On the 1880 census of Linn Co, OR , Lucy is listed as being 15 & married to Augustus Lawson McDowell. They eventually had 11 children, all born in Linn Co except for the last 2 who were born in Gilliam Co. Kathleen Melinda(Cassie), Ethel,Carl, Richard, Beulah May,Fannie F, David Albert, Daniel, Henry Lawson, Lula Fay, & Mildred Virginia(Millie) McDowell. Augustus died in Prineville, Crook Co., OR May 9, 1919 & is buried in Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville, his death cert listed him as a widower. We have not been able to find anything on Lucy. There was a rumor that they may have been divorced & Lucy died in Portland from Cancer but none of that has been proven. Henry Lawson (the son) was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Avery Scoggins & died in Salem prison in 1918 from the flu. Of the other Pigg children, after John Walker Pigg died, his farm was sold & the children scattered. The only son was apparently never heard of again by any of his sisters. The younger girls moved to Moscow Area, ID. Magaret married Charles Rinehart of The Dalles, OR. His father was a mayor of The Dalles at one time. They moved to MT Home, Idaho & were divorced in 1899. Rosie married Corydan (Corrie)Stillwell. They moved to Roseburg, OR. Tennessee (Tennie) married Robert Gorby of Glenns Ferry. He had a daughter Lois by his 1st marriage, but they never had a family together. Effie Grace married George Henry Rosevear in 1910, Glenns Ferry, Idaho. They had 5 children together. Effie died in 1935 in a auto accident. Children were Esther(died 2000), John William(died 1998), Mary Ann(died in 1920's), Ruby & Henry Rosevear. Of grandchildren of John William Pigg; Kathleen Malinda(Cassie)McDowell married Kurt or George Chance in Linn Co. Lula Fay McDowell married Ralph Rucsh & Millie McDowell married Ernest Manning. Apparently the "Pigg" family is listed in a book called "The Trail Blazers" published in 1930 possibly in Portland, OR. But I haven't seen a copy of this book. Any info , no matter how small on any of these families would be appreciated. Thank You Lisa McClain

    1. [MOJASPER] Cemetery Lookup Help Needed
    2. I am trying to find the locations of the graves of Margaret Hunter Bingham TEACHOUT and her husband Abner TEACHOUT. They died after the 1880 census and before the 1900 census. Because their farm was only a few short miles from the Jasper Co. line in Barton Co. and because Abner TEACHOUT had lived for a time in Jasper Co., I am wondering if they might be buried there? We cannot find their graves in Barton Co., MO anywhere near where their farm was located. Thanks for any help you can give. Jill Adami (mgobluemom@aol.com)

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FIELDS, CLEVENGER, BOYTS, MCDANIEL, ONETH, UTT Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1MB.2ACI/1939 Message Board Post: Can anyone help me fine the obituary or notice of the following? Does anyone know of an UTT cemetery? Kirk FIELDS was born 1901 <Christian co,> MO the eldest of 5 children of Charles Henry FIELDS and Doshia BROTHERS of Joplin, Jasper co, MO. Kirk FIELDS and a friend, Howard UTT, both age 20, were working the wheat harvest in Wichita, Kansas when they were robbed, beaten and placed on the Santa Fea railroad tracks and run over; their bodies were mutilated. Howard UTT was identified by his wife and Kirk FIELDS was identified by his fiance's friend. He is burried in the UTT's cemetary plot. Because of the illness of his father none of the family were able to attend. And then his father passed away right after his burial the same day. I can not imagine what Mrs. Charles (Doshia) FIELDS must have gone through, losing her eldest son and husband within a week. Kirk's father, Charles "Henry" FIELDS b Aug 1878 died at age 43 in 1921 and is buried with his wife in Forest Park Cem, Joplin, Jasper, MO. He worked in the mines at Webb city, Jasper co, MO where his brother Issac (IKE) M. FIELDS was killed in a mine explosion 23 Apr 1908. Henry caught tuberculosis while working in the mine. Many miners got consumption from each other while working in confined quarters. Charles, with his wife, Doshia, and 5 children (Kirk, John, Marie, Harritte (Harriet) and Dorothy), lived in Joplin, Jasper co, MO. Please contact: Mary K.
