    3. Here are some files of interest from http://www.rootsweb.com/~cenfiles/mo/newton/1840/index.txt. You might also try: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cenfiles/mo/newton/1840/pg0253.txt and http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/mo/newton/census/1840/1840indx.htm I would send them with this message but there is a copyright restriction. You might also try "Burris, Martha" at google.com/ie. 1 Wayne Spence wrote: > I have a Banister Hickey, son of Michael, who was married to Martha Burris. 3. I got the following information from http://www.luhsd.k12.ca.us/lhs/library/historyday/lemoore/lemoore-stratford.htm While final preparations were being made early in October 1972 for the thousands to enjoy Hickey Park at the 10th Annual Lemoore-Navy picnic, one grand old man, who first conceived the park and made it possible, James Bannister Hickey, died in a Lodi hospital. He was 99 years old. While none of the Hickey children married, the Hickey family was a close knit family. William Hickey, father of "Ban" as he was called, settled near Lodi in a town called Elliot; here Ban was born. Other children were John, William, Isabelle and Florence. Because of the effects of the 1893 the elder Hickey decided to move to the Lemoore area in 1898; coming in various stages of travel. The family built its first house in the area of that is now Hickey Park. Sisters Florence and Belle were both school teachers. Later the family moved to a house on Houston Avenue property, south east of Lemoore, but still retaining what is now Hickey Park site. In later years the freeway 198 crossed this property. At this time Ban and Isabelle returned to the old home in Lodi. For years Bannister had a feeling that the Lemoore area and Kings County needed a park site. In October 1958 Kings County made a token payment for what is now the beautiful Hickey Park. James Bannister Hickey's good lives after him, a lasting memorial to the pluck, foresight and generosity of one of Lemoore's pioneer families. Go to google.com/ie and then when it comes up, type in "bannister hickey". It may not be just right but it's a place to start. 3. I just tried google.com/ie and both names came up with limited listings. If you use google.com, you'll usually get more hits. By the way, I've found many times English and Irish families came down from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and then west to Missouri. 3. I found the online address for the METHODIST CHURCH, then I located the Church Archives info, (it is easy, trust me) and then I contacted them, they sent me the obits and information for 2 of my ancestors records from the early 1800s. Plus the obits. It was a very small fee. It is all explained on their site. Most churches have this type of record keeping for al members of their clergy, I did the same for the Presbyterian Church. Just put Methodist Church as the search or add Archives, you will fid it. At present the Bishop for the area is in charge of the parish assignments. Don't know if that was true then, but its worth a check. N. Eckel ______________________________
