    1. [MOJASPER] Help With Fairview Cemetery Lookups
    2. Gerald Johnston
    3. I really need some help. I have tried to get this information, but cannot. I do not have the Belk cemetery books and I am not able to read the microfilm versions of them at the FHC. I do not know where my great-great-grandfather is buried, but suspect he is at Fairview Cemetery. This has been a brick wall for all of us. If there is any chance someone could help me with this, I would be eternally grateful. I am trying to find the date of death for George William or Washington Johnston. Family members have told me his middle name was William. However, my grandmother wrote in a book, in the 1930s, that his middle name was Washington. I do know he was born in 1854, in Benton Co., AR. The date of death I have is 11 April 1896. What is confusing to folks who have tried to find his obit, etc. for me, is that there was another man with a similar name on the books, George W. Johnson, who may have died in 1896 or 1897. Now; to make it easier, he may be buried near his wife, who was remarried twice after his death. Her name was Mary Jane Dowl Mustain Johnston; 2nd husband Duff; third husband Boatwright. I am sure her tombstone probably says Mary Jane Boatwright. Mary Jane's mother may be buried with them also; her name was Anna L. George Mustain. She died sometime after 1875??? Near them also may be George and Mary Janes' son, Frederick Thomas (or reversed) Johnston, or just Fred Johnston. Also their daughter, Edna May Johnston Maryman Caulkins and her second husband, Jim Caulkins may be in the same section. Edna's first husband, Tony Maryman may be there too. The way Johnston is so often spelled Johnson in Jasper Co. records makes this hard to find information on them. Is there anyone that can help me with this? I need dates and locations for where George is buried, also Anna L. George Mustain, ; if possible. Now; I believe that Mary Jane and Edna are buried in the section of the cemetery near Maiden Lane, and at the north part of the cemetery; in an old section. Please, please, please, HELP! 3. Colleen Belk's Tombstone Inscriptions of Jasper County are at both Webb City and Joplin Public Libraries, I believe the LDS Church has the books on microfilm (I'm not sure) However, Webb City Genealogical Society is now selling these books. Go to Jasper County MO GenWeb site and click on Genealogy Societies and Libraries there is an email address for the Society listed there, They also do lookups for a fee. 3. I found the book "Tombstone Inscriptions of Jasper County, Missouri" by Colleen Belk--a 17 volume edition. I was so excited to find my Hostetter ancestors in the index, but when I went to the page they were suppose to be on, there was a note saying that when the book went to press, pages 60-69 were missing and they had been unable to get the pages replaced. So---with all my usual luck, my ancestors were suppose to be on page 66 and 67--yes the missing pages. They were buried in the Carl Junction cemetery. Does anyone know if another survey has ever been done of that cemetery or if it is online anywhere? I would appreciate any help or direction on this one! thanks, Michelle
