    1. [MOJASPER] Bethel Church
    2. Suzanne
    3. I am writing in the hope that someone will be able to tell me if there are published records for the Bethel Church in Barry Co. Actually, was there more than one church named Bethel? I have received 376 pages of William Cannon’s Civil War Pension Records. Many Barry Co. names are contained therein. William Cannon was a resident of Barry Co. from about 1850 to his death on March 30th, 1886 near McDowell, Barry County, Missouri. James H. and Benjamin F. Kennedy of Barry County, Missouri testified that they became acquainted with said Cannon on or about June 1857 at Bethel Church in said county, that the said Cannon was ordained deacon of the church when they were members and continued in membership “ ‘til the conflict of the late war necessarily separated them”. Any help you can give me will be deeply appreciated. Suzanne

    3. Jerry, I really have a hard time getting to the Genealogy Library in Salt Lake City in that I still have children at home and lots going on, but occasionally I do get down and have precious little time to do research, but I took your email with me yesterday and I looked to see what I might find in the Belk book for you. I looked and looked and could not find your George W. I know some cemeteries mentioned having some grave stones that could no longer be read and who knows--maybe one was his or maybe he just was buried somewhere else, but I did find the following for you: Fairview Cemetery W. 13th & Maiden Lane Sts. Johnson, Anna 22 Feb. 1835-3 Dec. 1901 w/JM Joseph M. 1895-1918 Adeline E. 17 Jul 1909-24 Jul 1913 then together in a lot: Johnson, Mary J. 1857-1927 w/ Geo. W Fred d. 29 Apr. 1943 Mo Pvt. Us Army Maryman, Tony W. 1885-1931 Curious that he was not buried right there with Mary J. huh? My relatives are buried all over the place though and I just don't think they made the effort to bury them together like we do. The only Boatwrights mentioned were in another cemetery and were Benjamin and Georgia E. The only Mustains in the book wre buried elsewhere also and their names were Barnetta C., Charley R., and John W. The only Caulkins were in another cemetery and were Albert LeRoy, and Vituda May Best of luck in your search and I hope that there was something of this information that will benefit you in your search.
