I ran across that little girl Dimple as I was searching through the 1900 census record in Jasper Co.! Don't know anything more than that, though. Just thought it interesting to encounter her twice now. :-) MacMullenChild ----- Original Message ----- From: <dennyloo@hotmail.com> To: <MOJASPER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 12, 2002 10:23 AM Subject: [MOJASPER] Anything on DREAMER family? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Dreamer > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1MB.2ACI/2029 > > Message Board Post: > > Looking for information regarding the family of Robert Dreamer. Ann , Would you have any pictures that you've bought up of any Butterfields in Joplin/Webb City, or any for buildings that my grandfather H. F. (Frank) Davis built? He was a contracter in the 1920's - possibly a bit earlier, and into the 30's. He was supposed to have built the Junge Bakery building, that I know about. Perhaps there were pictures taken at the site of the people doing the work?? Also, my grandmother Margaret E. "Maggie" (Butterfield) Davis, was a member of the Rebekah's in Joplin for many years, - - -pictures taken?? Thanks for your help. Margaret Rollins yoyo4233@aol.com
Margaret, I am sorry, the pictures I posted to the list is all I have that are not my family's pictures. I have nothing taken in Joplin and only found out about the Joplin connection about 2 years ago. My father kept us away from the family except his brother after my grandmother passed away. I do have some of my grandfather working in the mines, but I think these were around Picher, OK. I do have a question, however; did your grandfather come from the Davis' that go back to Lucy Wideman, daughter of Johann Heinrich Weidemann (John Henry/Henry Wideman)? I have an Uncle who is still living who may have pictures of Joplin. His daughter brings a few at a time as she can. If she should bring me anything that might be of help to you, I will scan and email them to you. I will keep you email on file and don't be surprised if a year from now you get something, it's happened before. Thanks for acknowledging my request, Jerry. Our feeling is that the picture of my grandfather's hardware store was never used in any publication after all. However, we do know that my grandmother 'loaned' it to someone that intended to do that. Because it was such an old photo, early 1900's, we're hoping that it wouldn't just have been thrown away and is still in someone's files. Thank you very much! I hope it works! My Beasleys are descended from John Beasley (b. 1717 in England, d. VA, m. Jane Cagwell) to Charles Beasley (b. 1738) to Nathaniel Beasley, Sr. (General b. VA 1774, married Sarah Sutton, d. OH) to John Sutton Beasley (b. 1831, Decautr, IL, d. Champaign, IL, m. Sarah Traimmel West) to Washington West "WW" Beasley (b. 1831, IL, d. 1911, probably at his horse ranch near Forsythe, MT, m. Nancy McNeil) to George McNeil Beasley, (b. 1860 Champaign, IL. d. 1923, Glendive, Montana, m. Emma Sthor). He had only one child, a daughter, my Grandmother, May. All the former ancesters had multi children who scattered all over the country. We could be cousins. If you want more detail, let me know. Nancy Eckel

My Grandfather, when senile, married a woman who had a brain tumor. She was very paranoic about any of Grampa's family and sold ALL of the famil photos/albums to strangers, refusing us access. She also sold the trunks of labeled family clothing - my Great Grandmother's wedding dress, etc. They lived in Clayton Missouri, and this happened around 1959 or so. The names are SHABEL, STOEHR, STOHR, BEASLEY and O'BRIEN. If only first names were used they would be Ed, George, May, Emma, Mary, Harry etc. If anyone has any of these I will pay to get them back. They are worth more than any amount of money to me - though I have only Social Security.
Hi, Listers, I have been on this list just for a few weeks and thought it was about time to throw out my fishing line and see what I can snag. My great-grandfather Andrew J. Bigley and his wife, Susan Blanton lived in Joplin. Susan and Andrew are buried in I believe Evergreen Cemetery in Joplin. I understand that they are not buried together and that his grave is unmarked. My question is, does anyone have any information about Andrew Bigley being a photographer in Joplin and/or owning any mining interest. This is a story I received from a family member and would like to track it down. There is some evidence that the photographer part is correct. Andrew J. Bigley b. 3 Oct 1863 Ohio, d. 23 Nov 1919 Picher, Oklahoma Susan Blanton b. 15 Nov 1866 Franklin Co., MO, d. 3 Jan 1941 Joplin, Jasper Co., MO Any information on these two, especially Andrew, would be greatly appreciated and if I can help you in anyway whether you have anything on these two or not, just ask and I will do what I can. Ann
What a sad story! I hope you are able to find these albums again. I'd be interested in knowing more about your Beasley family. My great-grandmother was Zena Beasley (1893-1969), and she was born at Exeter in Barry County to John Otho Franklin Beasley and his second wife Debbie Doyel. They had 12 or 13 children. I put what I know about the family at: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~jofbeasley/ Let me know if you see a connection -- I realize there were some other Beasley families in the area. - Heather On Wed, 10 Jul 2002 NorfokShoeMom@aol.com wrote: > My Grandfather, when senile, married a woman who had a brain tumor. Leona and the rest of you on this list, I have been buying and trying to get back to their owners any and all pictures that I can afford. At this moment I have the following that I cannot find the family. I will list them here and anyone that is connected to any of these family, and can convince me that you have a connection, I will send them to you for no cost. Ann I will put here what is written on the pictures and a small description of the pictures. 1. "Sophia Buck (Grandma)" "Winner", the "inner" is circled. This is a middle age lady and the picture is in a paper folder. I would say taken about 1900-1920. 2. "Fred Buck (Grandpa)" "Winer", the "inner" is circled. This matches the above picture and is written in the same hand. This man looks a bit like Bing Crosby. 3. "The Masters Family" A man and woman with 5 children rangeing from about 18 months to maybe as old as 15. It looks like 3 girls, a boy and the baby. The picture was made at Union Photo Co., Lineville, Iowa by ?nts & Priegel. 4. "Christian Gilomens parents" Middle age couple, Man has long hair and a beard and both are "pleasantly plump". This picture was made by J. Leutwiler in St. Jacob, MO. 5. "Vernel Helen Hoffmann born Sept 4th 1920, Taken Jan 4th 1921" This is on a post card and of couse it is of an infant. The baby is dressed in a knit sweater outfit with a cap. 6. "Helen & Al Neulist" This was taken at 3414-A California Ave, St. Louis -----Original Message----- From: Leona Headley [mailto:lheadley@cottagesoft.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 09, 2002 6:39 PM To: MOJASPER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MOJASPER] Lost photo album's > Sorry folks, just re read my message about my lost photos and realized that although I > gave the details about the auction; where, when, etc. I neglected to give the name of the I wish I could help with this lady.
