    3. Margaret - Well, rats. I'm really disappointed. No, I'm sure she would have graduated in 1930. I found her in the 1929 Joplimo that's at the Joplin library, and she was a junior then. She was at the very top of her class page - do you know what that meant? The students weren't listed alphabetically - could the pictures have been by class ranking? (Seems pretty hard-hearted if one were at the bottom of the class, but I can't figure out any other logic to the placement of pictures....) No, Bud and Louise Jones weren't my mother's siblings. Her siblings closest in age were Jamie, who was born in 1909, and Lois, who was born in 1906. Mom was the youngest. They lived on East 7th Street just East of the Duquesne City Limit sign. The house is still there, and it and the adjacent acreage have been for sale for a couple of years. Thanks for checking - I really appreciate it. Candy

    2. Candace, I looked through the entire book - not even ONE Jones. . .though my mom knew some Jones' because I have a picture of her with a Bud Jones and Louise Jones, when they were all small. I thought the name Marion Jones was familiar, too - Mom used to talk about the Jones kids - also, a Mary Holtzclaw - who lived close to Mom I believe, and I think the Jones did, too. Would Bud and Louise be your Mom's siblings? Don't worry about her picture not being in the Joplimo - Mom only got her picture in and nothing else. Apparantly Mom wasn't too into the clubs - and maybe your Mom wasn't either. In any case, sorry I couldn't find her - even looked in the 1931, 1932 classes....could she have graduated in 1929?? Margaret

    3. Margaret, my mother was born in 1912 and lived in Joplin until she married. I've been trying to get my hands on her high school year book from her senior year (1930), but the Joplin library doesn't have the 1930 yearbook. Would you know if your mother had one? Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1MB.2ACI/2047 Message Board Post: I am searching Charles BRYAN of Joplin MO approx 1915. Charles (we think) married Mamie Cynthia ROBINSON of (we think) Joplin MO about 1913-14. To this union were born two sons (both in Joplin) Harold Lee BRYAN b:1915 and Walter Howard BRYAN b:1917 Sometime after Walter's birth, Charlie disappeared and joined the military. Mamie has related that she later applied for an allotment and was denied with the explanation that Charlie joined as an unmarried individual. Charlie was never seen or heard from again. Mamie later married James BRAY in Joplin, who raised Harold and Walter to adulthood. The actual marriage to Charlie is untested as it could have happened anywhere if it didn't take place in Joplin. Harold's birth cert lists Charlie's birthplace as Warren PA, at this time the date or estimated date of Charlie's birth is unknown. Charlie's background and heritage have remained a mystery within the family for many years. If you can connect Charlie or have any ideas, please contact me. Thank you.
