    1. HELP WITH A SURNAME - "PREVETTE"?
    2. PENNY PEACE
    3. I'm wondering if someone on the list might be able to help me with the correct spelling of a surname. I have a 1947 obit of my g-grandmother's brother (Dan Conley of Carthage--who owned the Conley Bakery in Carthage for 37 yrs) which mentions a surviving daughter with the name of "Lettie Prevette" of Kansas City. Lettie was born circa 1911 in Joplin/Carthage MO. Searching for the last name "Prevette" I'm not coming up with much. So I thought I would post my query to the list to see if anyone has heard of the surname Prevette or some other spelling of this name. Any clues/idea would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

    3. Francis, I am sorry that I did miss your reply. I did check back to the year 2000 when Wingo's was one of the topics. I was more than a little shocked to see they were still in business in 1960 and next door to Newton's. I worked at Newton's right after I graduated in 1957 and don't recall the shop. My memory is certainly in a world of hurt. Thanks again to Bud and Francis.
