Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/2320.2.1 Message Board Post: I have been trying to find information about Amanda Atkinson listed in the 1850 and 1860 census. She was the daughter of James Atkinson and Eliza (Redinour?) Do you have any knowledge of what happened to her? I believe she married James Huckaby from Wayne County, KY and had three or four children--James T. Joseph L., William H. and Hile (or Ahail). Reference: 1850 Fentress County, TN census Reference: 1860 Wayne County, KY census (the children are scattered around with other people) Reference: 1870 Clinton County, Ky census (James married Theresa Sowders--I have the marriage information from Wayne County courthouse. Sinia Sowders signed it) There were more children. Reference: 1880 Barren County, KY census--Huckby (all the children are gathered together back with their father and Theresa) Reference: 1900 Jasper County, Mo census (James in hospital as Veteran from Civil War) All the children ended up in Mo. Can't find Theresa. A "lot of people" say she married someone else but I don't believe that. I wish I could prove it.

    3. Thelma I found this information on this board from Kathy. Archivist Steve Weldon Jasper County Record Center 125 N. Lincoln Carthage MO 64836 417-359-1100 Volunteers will research for a specific name for no charge, although there is a fee of 10 cents per page for copies of documents. ~~~ When I contacted them about cemeteries, marriages and etc. I was asked to write a request so they would have a record for their files. Steve is very good and helpful. I don't know what, if any fees, are now in effect. Once you have the names book and page numbers it's quicker and easier to get a copy of the record from the Jasper County Courthouse. Cost there will depend on if you want just a xerox copy or a certified copy. Orlena "M. Thelma Feese" <[email protected]> wrote: Is there anyone on the list that has access to marriages at Joplin? 3. Is there anyone on the list that is connected to, or knows of Walter S. and Adah K. HARLAN who are buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri Walter died in 1958 and Adah in 1969. They are buried next to Chester R.[1899 - 1983] and Helen N. SCOTT [1901 - 1977]. In 1910 Chester is found in Joplin, Missouri as a child with his parents, Charles and Lizzie Scott. His obituary states the he lived in Joplin before moving to Overland Park, Kansas. Walter and Adah Harlan are found in Joplin in the 1900, 1920, and 1930 censuses. Are Walter and Adah the parents of Helen? If not, then are they related in anyway? Faye Catherine KELLY, born around 1904 in Joplin, Missouri, was married to a Mr. Harlan before marrying Chester R. Scott, after Helen died in 1977. Faye's obituary states that she had a daughter, Betty Reed, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Faye is buried in another part of the Memorial Park Cemetery. Did Faye marry a son of Walter and Adah Harlan? Any help with this puzzle will be appreciated and untie a knot for me. Thelma in Colorado
