Mrs. Anna DURHAM swore out a warrant before Justice WORTHEN Thursday for the arrest of Thomas DURHAM, her husband, on the charge of stealing $63 worth of her household goods. The couple had not been living together for several months and had divided their possessions. A few days ago Mrs. DURHAM packed up her household goods at 1714 Cherry street preparatory to shipping them to her parents in Indiana to whom she intended to go. DURHAM offered to have the goods taken to the Union depot and was entrusted with the job. The goods never reached the Union depot. Neither could Mrs. DURHAM find them nor get trace of her husband. She then invoked the aid of the law. The warrant for DURHAM was given to Deputy Marshals KESHLEAF and HALPIN, who found him at his brother's farm south of the city yesterday morning. He was lodged in jail and will have a hearing Monday before Justice WORTHEN. The deputy marshals also located the goods in a second hand store on Grand avenue where they had been sold for $5. They were taken in charge by Marshal STEWART. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
