My husband's mother was born at The Willows Maternity Home, Kansas City, MO in 1918; she died a couple of years ago and I'm informed that her file therefore is now sealed. I do have her birth name and her birth mother's name, as she had obtained a copy of her original birth certificate (unfortunately, it was not found among her papers after she died). Assuming, of course, that her birth mom didn't use an assumed name. These long-ago adoptions seem almost impossible to find info on.
