"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Sunday, November 12, 1871 HORRIBLE DEATH. Yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock, while a switchman named Miller BROMAN, was engaged in switching some cars at the Kansas City and Fort Scott Stock Yards, he fell beneath the wheels and was cut in two. He had just turned the switch for some passing cars and then attempted to jump upon them as they passed, but by some means missed his hold and footing and fell upon the rail. The wheels of seven cars passed over him, taking off his legs close to the body and crushing his breast in a shocking manner. The mutilated man was taken up and sent to his home, which is in Wyandotte. A terrible surprise for his waiting wife to meet on Saturday night. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10
