The Eklins 1910-1911 scholarship in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts has been conferred on Edward ULRICK, a Kansas City art student, who has been paying for art tutelage here by working afternoons and nights as a chauffeur. The competitive scholarship is awarded yearly for the highest merit in drawing. Mr. ULRICK's work was given first place among hundreds of offerings from different parts of the United States. He is a pupil of Mme. Alexandra BLUMBERG, who has been training him in the methods of the French school two years. "Kansas City will have reason to feel proud of this young man," Mme. BLUMBERG said. "I can see unusual talent in his work." ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
