Hundreds of franked "suggestion" cards, soliciting constructive ideas from the mailing public to increase the efficiency of the postal department were mailed Monday by Baylis STEELE, postmaster. One of the cards was returned yesterday. Upon its face was written: "Send Me a Man, C.O.D." To the card was signed the name of a young woman in the Graphic Arts building. All carriers and extras were busy. An acquaintance of the postmaster volunteered his services. Address well memorized, he left the postoffice. An hour later he returned with the information that the young woman had been the victim of a practical joke by other girls in the office. "Well, they can't say this department is not efficient," Mr. STEELE said. "The plea was answered." ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
