A Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. Stephen was born May 14, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. His family moved to Kansas City, Mo., when he was very young, where he lived most of his life. He was a painter for more than 40 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Stephen married his wife, Bev, on May 5, 1990. They moved to Texas in 1999. They loved to travel and some of their fondest memories were from their vacations. He was an avid reader, gardener and music lover, especially jazz. But his passion and his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by wife Beverly; children Sara Scott, Tom Carr, Tom McNamara and wife Laura, Kathleen Maddock, Amy Wager and husband Bob, and Sean McNamara; grandchildren Noah, Seth, Hannah, Mariah, Josh and wife Heather, Jason, Jessica, Joy, Shannon, Molly, Gage and Mia Grace; great-grandchild Kenlee; his mother, Joyce; sisters Jennifer Jones and Kathey Carr; nieces and nephews and a wealth of friends and relatives.
