I was saying that I should have went through the state to get the copy of the death certificate. Instead, I went to the Kansas City Health Dept. at 24th and Troost to get a copy, which I thought would be identical to the one from the state. The cost is the same, but the only information they give on a "certified" death certificate there is the name of the person along with birth and death dates and a very vague cause of death. In fact, the certificate I got from the K.C. office said that death was due to inhaling food or vomit. The copy I now have from the State Health Dept. says she died of renal(?) failure and it also givees me the informants name and where she is buried.
