In the early 1890's cable cars had replaced most of the horse-drawn lines. During that time streetcars powered by electricity were replacing both horse-drawn cars and cable cars. And, by 1900, more than 100 miles of tracks had been laid for the electric streetcars. You might find an article regarding the accident in THE KANSAS CITY STAR. The newspaper was first published in the 1880's and continues on today. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
