Cathy, One of my great-grandfathers is buried in the cemetery on the grounds of the Nevada mental hospital-Robert E. Smith. Are there records available for the people who were patients there?? I would like to see exactly why he was there.? I believe he was an alcoholic and was placed there by the Morgan County, MO courts.? I know the county paid for it. If you want I can look for someone there???? [email protected] wrote: The St. Joseph hospital is in Buchanan County. There was another one in Nevada Missouri for the south but I don't know of any state (mental) hospital near St. Louis. Find out where the county work house, poor house was and it may give you a clue. **************************************See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message Those who've lit our lives with love are never truly "gone" They watch over us from heaven, Where their spirits, Still shine on. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. Wouldn't his death certificate indicate name of the cemetery where he's buried? If the County paid for his burial, they should have a record. juanita > One of my great-grandfathers is buried in the cemetery on the grounds > of the Nevada mental hospital-Robert E. Smith. There is no death certificate that I could find.? I couple of weeks ago, it suddenly dawned on me that the coynty would have some type of record.? The next time I go there, I will check the probate records.? Thanks for reminding me-I had actually forgotten (due to a senior week)?I had thought about looking at the county records! ? Thanks, Juanita.
