William SUMMERS, a black newsboy and bootblack, died at the City hospital about 7 o'clock last night from injuries received by being run over by a Missouri Pacific switch engine near the foot of Main street yesterday morning. Young SUMMERS had been watching a train pass by and stepped directly in front of another engine which he had not seen approaching. Both of his legs were completely severed above the knees. Police Surgeon IUEN attended him and he was removed to the hospital. The corpse was last night taken to Wagner's morgue where the coroner will hold an inquest. SUMMERS was only 15 years old and came here three weeks ago from Huntington, Tenn. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
