Edward FAGAN, a saloon-keeper at Ninth and Bell streets in West Kansas, was dangerously injured in front of his place of business yesterday afternoon while attempting to board a moving cable car. FAGAN, who weights 270 pounds, was caught between the car and one of the L road columns and terribly crushed. Both legs were broken near the ankles, two of his ribs on the left side, and one on the right side were broken and he suffered a bad scalp wound and was injured internally. Police Surgeon LUEN and Dr. F. J. IUEN, surgeon of the Metropolitan company's Fifth street line, went to the scene in the police ambulance, but Dr. STEMEN, surgeon for the Metropolitan in Kansas City, Kas., had already taken charge of FAGAN. He was removed to St. Joseph's hospital and was resting easy late last night. It is thought he will recover. He is 35 years of age and unmarried. {note: he died on May4, 1893} ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
