All day yesterday John O'BRIEN stayed sober. John said in the North Side Court this morning that his inherent gallantry aided him in the struggle. As long as the women of the camera squad remained in the polling places John put the tempters aside. "Divil a drop did I touch until the ladies were gone," O'BRIEN told Judge KENNEDY, "I didn't intend they should see me misbehavin'. But between then and midnight all the boys had a bit too much. I'm glad, though, the whisky didn't get me while the ladies were around." "In consideration of your politeness," Judge Kenney said, "you are discharged." ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo10 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
