Not much red-tape in those days!!! "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Thursday, December 13, 1900 BABY SEARCHING FOR A HOME. A healthy 3 months old girl baby, very pretty, is in charge of Colonel J. C. GREENMAN, humane agent, who will keep it until a home can be found for it. The mother of the child is too poor to maintain it. The baby will be brought to Mr. GREENMAN's office at the city hall this morning at 10 o'clock, where anyone who wishes to adopt it, and can assure the humane agent that it will be well cared for, may have it --- provided it has not already been taken. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
