Hello, Can anyone tell me where I would write to see if Kansas City kept business license records back as far as 1936? I wrote to the City of Kansas City, 414 E 12th St., Kansas City, MO in December to see if they had the answer but have not heard back. I did include a SASE. My grandfather, David W. Smith, was in the 1937 City Directory with his wife, Marie. His occupation was listed as Pres. I am trying to find out what he was Pres. of. Thanks, Charlotte in Oregon
Charlotte, If you keep going in the years, many times the place of employment is listed in the directory as well.
