(Kansas City, MO) J. J. SQUIRE's little boy is lying very ill with malignant malarial fever. A large party of Englishmen went out to Victoria over the Union Pacific road yesterday. A savage dog belonging to a man named KING attacked and severely bit J. J. MOSELY, near the Fort Scott shops, yesterday. Thomas GEE, caught in the act of picking pockets during the circus procession, was arrested by Officer HAYDE yesterday. A man was at the depot yesterday, stating he had been made the victim of the price of a $1,000 mile ticket by a St. Louis scalper. An old citizen says: "Why don't you put the small pox patients in Shelley park?" He wants to see this plat useful if not ornamental. A boy named FINK was thrown from a horse near the stockyards exchange yesterday morning, and striking against a tree box, two ribs were broken. John KELLY, charged with stealing a trunk at the depot, was bound over by Justice BACON yesterday in the sum of $500 and committed to the county jail. There was a sheriff's sale in progress at the TATCHER tanking company's works yesterday, and the investigations of the health officer were temporarily deferred. A number of prominent physicians will leave this week to attend the annual session of the State Medical Association, which meets at Mexico, Mo., May 17, 18 and 19. Hon. Wesley JONES of Burlington, is in the city, looking after the business of his flourishing branch house. His manager here, Mr. WILSON, who has been very ill, is now rapidly recovering. During the passage of the circus procession yesterday there were several runaways, the horses becoming frightened at the bands and strange animals and furious at the sight of the elephants. O. E. GREEN was arrested yesterday evening on a warrant sworn out by Fannie WILKINSON, charging him with using indecent language toward her at the corner of Sixteenth and Grand avenue. Justice BACON delivered his opinion in the CAMPBELL case yesterday. He discharged the prisoner on the charge preferred, holding him on the charge of common assault. The trial will come up Wednesday. Mr. John F. WILSON, equestrian manager of John ROBINSON's circus, was warmly greeted yesterday by his many friends in this city. WILSON is the champion manipulator of the arena in America, and is excelled by no one, not even old John himself. The local board of the Detroit Mutual Benefit association held a meeting on Friday and elected the following officers for the year: President, J. W. DUNLAP; vice president, P. G. ATHERSON; medical examiner, Dr. H. J. BEALS; secretary and treasurer, Elliott H. SMITH. During the flood, a large cat fish got into one of the inundated houses at Harlem and was unable to get out again. The family moved back yesterday and found the carcass of a cat fish weighing 100 pounds, lying on the floor. P. S. Chief SPEERS is responsible for this fish story.
