    3. "The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Monday, April 24, 1899 A PIONEER LAID TO REST. The funeral of Orlando S. BARTLETT, the Kansas pioneer who died Friday morning, was held yesterday afternoon at the family home, 619 Orville avenue, Kansas City, Kas. The services, which were conducted by Rev. Mr. Harlan G. MENDENHALL, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, were largely attended. The deceased was widely and favorably known in the metropolis. He had been a resident of Kansas for forty-two years. The burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, a burying ground which was laid out by the deceased many years ago. It is now the prettiest cemetery in the city. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
