POWELL, SEYMOUR "The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Tuesday, April 18, 1899 A JESSE JAMES JUROR DIES. King R. POWELL, aged 63 years, died of catarrh of the stomach at the home of his son-in-law, W. S. SEYMOUR, 623 Walnut street, Monday. He was a member of the jury that tried Jesse JAMES for train robbery and was one of the best known stationary engineers in the West. Mr. POWELL was born in Massachusetts and came to Kansas before the civil war. He was present at the Hamilton massacre in Lynn county, Kas. He was a member of the Stationary Engineers' union, and that organization will have charge of the funeral services.
