"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Friday, March 30, 1900 BITTEN BY A SAVAGE DOG. Will CHAMBERS, 40 years old, sat down exhausted at Twelfth and Liberty streets yesterday afternoon, after having searched unsuccessfully for work in Argentine. A ferocious dog jumped on him, as he pondered on his ill luck, and lacerated his face badly. CHAMBERS tried to protect his face with his hands and the dog tore the skin from them also. Some workmen, who had seen the dog attack CHAMBERS, drove him off. The workmen carried CHAMBERS, who lay unconscious on the walk to a neighboring house and Police Surgeon LONGAN was called. He sewed up CHAMBERS' wounds and he was sent to his home at First street and Agnes avenue. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
