FINDLEY, TURNER "The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Tuesday, April 18, 1899 IN A PITIABLE CONDITION. Mary Lee TURNER, an aged woman who made her home with the family of the late Andrew D. FINDLEY for a number of years, was picked up at Ninth and Main streets at 6 o'clock yesterday morning by the police and sent to the city hospital. She was wandering around the streets bareheaded and in her stocking feet, carrying her shoes under her arm. She is violently insane and will be sent to an asylum if a course of treatment at the city hospital fails to improve her condition. Mrs. TURNER is about 60 years old and it is not known whether she has any relatives living. She came to Kansas City many years ago with the family of Andrew D. FINDLEY. A few years later she married a physician named TURNER and moved to Santa Clara, Cal. TURNER died soon afterward and his widow returned to Kansas City and again made her home with the FINDLEYs. She remained with them until last September and they had heard nothing of her until she was taken in charge on a complaint of lunacy. At one time Mrs. TURNER was reputed to be wealthy. It is not known what caused her insanity. ======================================================
