John: I see in one of your messages that there is a Confederate Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. My grandfather, George W. Maddox, was a Confederate veterans and at the time of his death he lived in Jefferson City, Cole County. I have a copy of his obiturary from a Jefferson City newspaper and it says he belonged to the UCV and the members of that organization accompanied the remains to the cemetery. It did not say which cemetery, and we have been unable to find his place of burial in Jefferson City. Would you look at the cemetery in Higginsville to see if he might have been buried there.
