    3. HOLCOMB, LANE, QUACKENBUSH, SHRODES "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, April 14, 1913 DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY. A. W. QUACKENBUSH, for years at the head of the mechanical departments of various railroads, died at the home of his brother-in-law, W. R. SHRODES, 519 West Thirty-eighth Street, at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. He was 68 years old and had lived in Kansas City two years. He was born in Paterson, N. J. Until his retirement in February 1911, Mr. QUACKENBUSH had been actively engaged in railroad work for forty-nine years, mainly in Missouri. He was master mechanic of the Quincy, Omaha & Kansas City Railroad at Milan, Mo., for twelve years preceding his retirement. He was general master mechanic of the Wabash Railroad at Moberly, Mo., as well as superintendent of motive power of the Chicago & Alton Railroad at Bloomington, Ill., and is well known among railroad men throughout the country. He had been a deacon in the Baptist Church for years, and, until his health failed, was always found actively engaged in church work. Mr. QUACKENBUSH was a Mason of the thirty-second degree, member of the Scottish Rite at Indianapolis, Ind.; Ararat Temple, the Shrine of Kansas City, and a member of the York Rite bodies at Milan, Mo., where he also served at Master of Seamen Lodge No. 126, A. F. and A. M. The wife, Mrs. Matilda QUACKENBUSH; four daughters, Mrs. W. A. HOLCOMB, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Mrs. Frank LANE, Decatur, Ill.; Miss Mary QUACKENBUSH of Kansas City and Mrs. W. A. SHRODES of Kansas City, and one son, A. J. QUACKENBUSH, general foreman of the Wabash Railroad, with headquarters in Chicago, survive. Funeral services will be at the home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
