    1. Re: [MOJACKSO] Jackson County Obituaries?
    2. An FYI in case some on the list are interested: The Kansas City Star has been around since September 18, 1880 when it was called The Kansas City Evening Star. I am the proud owner of a fragile copy of Vol. 1 No. 1 from that date (price two cents). Bless my great-grandparents who had the foresight to save a few interesting things, and my grandparents who, although they moved a lot (my mother went to 14 schools), somehow hung onto it also. The Kansas City Times was the morning version, published by the same company. I don't know when it began but it was phased out a good many years ago. I learned to read before I started school, beginning with the Star's masthead -- nice big type for a little kid to learn on. The Times threw me though; its masthead was in type like Old English or something, and the letters didn't look a thing like I was told they should. Vanette Hobbs Hamilton
