"The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Sunday, January 3, 1904 BETTER HAVE HIRED A HACK. For calling the ambulance out on a stormy night, May STUDEBAKER was fined $10 in police court yesterday morning. On Friday night she had her friends telephone to the police that she had attempted suicide. When the police surgeon arrived, it was found there was nothing wrong with her except that she had been drinking. It was found by looking over the surgeons' record that she had brought the ambulance out once before on a "fake" suicide call.
