Hi John, Just wanted to say hello - how are you? It was so nice to see someone post the information about the Jackson County Marriages. I found 17 marriage certificates that belonged to my family - some of the same people that you got their obit information for me - it is absolutely amazing that you can go online and print those off. It has "unofficial document" across the front of the marriage license but it also shows the verification by the minister that married them. It is just so nice to have the information, including birthdates in some instances. I was even able to get the marriage for the gentleman and his wife who came to see me from Independence. Do you know anyone who ever goes to Jefferson City to get actual copies of death certificates? If you do, would you please let me know. I just don't want to wait up to 6 months to get them. We are enjoying absolutely beautiful weather right now - mid to low 80's and sparking blue sky. The Farmer's Almanac says we are in for a hard winter but we are praying that means a lot of rain. We are in our 5th drought year. Have a wonderful night. Hi Pat, Here are the instructions. Go to http://www.co.jackson.mo.us/ser_os_ml.shtml , under "Marriage Records Search", move your cursor slowly down to the next line - the text that reads "here to search for marriage records" should be blue and you can click on the next site. On the next page, click on "Marriage Records Search" . On that page type in whatever information you know (sometimes just entering the surname works best) and then hit "Search". Once it brings up names, look all the way to the right side of the screen where it says "image", click on the image icon and at the next page, you don't do anything except "Retrieve as PDF". On the next screen, click on "View the image in pdf format". Then WALLAH, there is your image. You can opt to either print it or save it somewhere. These records are so valuable. Let me know if I can help you further.
