    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: cyndalee Surnames: Carneal Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6161/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Flemming Carneal Estate papers contains purchase dated June 29, 1848 for purchases by Thomas Carneal; bill receipt for funeral expenses of George T. Carneal, deceased, produced against Estate by Thos Carneal D., bill receipt for singing school submitted by Thomas Carneal D. 1849 and Final Settlement Papers dated 1852 for Flemming Carneal Estate reflect monies rec'd of Thomas Carneal... what does the letter D. following Thomas' name mean -is it significant in some way? It does not appear to be a first initial or middle initial. Also, Fleming died without a will and a statement dated 1851 states there are 4 heirs at this time..all heirs identified in the papers not including Thomas - would Thomas be entitled to be an heir (son) if there was no will was produced? Why would he pay for singing school and be reimbursed? Cindy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
