McGee, 67, south Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 16, 1999. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 19, at the Park Lawn Chapel. Private burial Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call 68:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Jim was born October 18, 1931, in Trenton, MO. He owned and operated Smith Lawn and Tree Company for 51 years. He was a member of Swope Park Masonic Lodge since 1969, member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, and a member of Ararat Shrine Temple for 29 years and its Harem Unit 28 years. He was also a member of Ararat's Shrineta. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Kathryn; four children and spouses, Bill and Kathy McGee, Elizabeth and Kenny Bollinger, Donna McGee, and Carol and Oliver Smith; sister, Esther Nickle; brother, Charles McGee; six grandchildren, James Bollinger, LoraCox, Sherri McGee, Amy McGee, Michael McGee, and Frazier Smith; two great-grandchildren, Callie and Dustin Bollinger.
