They tended to re-use the same names. A Margaret Malone signed off as a witness on the death certificate of Timothy (her father). My records show that she was born 1/9/1884 and married William Malone on 8/5/1906 and died 12/20/1960. Many of Thomas McNerney's (b. cerca 1808) children made detours before heading west. Its very confusing and the records are very sketchy. The only locations I know for sure are County Limerick---New York---Wheeling, Oh---Kansas City---From there some headed to southern parts of Mo and Ks, others further west to Seattle. My husbands father was Raymond McNerney (b. 1910, son of Patrick Joseph (b. 1879), son of Timothy (m. Mary Bennett in Geneva NY) (b. 1850 Ireland) who came over with his father Timothy. One of the McNerney's went to Limerick in search of clues and found that the name in Ireland was McEnery and that most of the records had been destroyed in a civil war in 1850 in a town named Kinna! rd. Very curious where Margaret and William met and married. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
