You can probably find the info you need there. If the death certificate has been scanned you can get it online for free, if not you can get an expedited copy for $5.00 (worth it - std. service could be months). Even if it is not free for the viewing you can probably glean some info like dates w/o the actual file. - http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/#search My understanding is that Leeds cemetery is named for the farmer who originally owned the land which was subsequently used as a "Potter's Field" for the poor and indigent. Here is a recent posting about Leeds cemetery - http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6188.2/mb.ashx Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Mo.Sos Death certificates are $1.00 each five may be ordered at one time with a stamped self addressed envelope and money order ,and you must use the file number from the site to get them at that price. Otherwise it is a search and you need a circa date, full name and MORE money about $12 each.Sase. The ones on site are just like the originals but not everyone is on site. I highly recommend you go to site and look it over carefully , make a list of your needs and spend a day downloading. After you have one second page, you will want to set your printer for page one only, multiple paged entries may have amendments on page 3 or 4. Coroners reports are elsewhere on the same archives site.
