    3. Art, I searched "The Kansas City Star" and "The Kansas City Times for an obit for Martha SHEHAN but did not find one. Are you sure of the date? Are you sure she died in Kansas City, MO? If she died in Kansas City, KS, it may explain why there was no obit. Back at that time obits for KCK residence were not always published in the KCMO newspapers. There was a local KCK newspaper ("The Kansan") and obits were sometimes published there. I did check the Jackson County Marriage Index, which covers the period of 1827 through 1937. There was no CROCKETT that married a Zelma SHEHAN or a Zelma any surname during that period. I checked the Bride index for SHEHANs and found the following: 1909 - Laura SHEHAN - Miles ABRAM (book 44, page 315, file #42869) 1916 - Zelma L. SHEHAN - Leo E. RICHTER (book 66, page 543, file #71341) 1921 - Jeanette R. Pratt SHEHAN - William SHEHAN (book 87, page 385, file # 97848) (marriages recorded at Jackson County, Kansas City courthouse) You can get a copy of the marriage certificate from the Mid-Continent Library in Independence. Send them the name and the reference numbers, and your mailing address. Library email address: ge@mcpl.lib.mo.us Hope this was helpful.
