    3. Dear Misty I'd really appreciate that. I have been seeking to find others of our Reach family. M. Audrey Reach's father died in New Orleans in the 1950s and his obit listed his children. I just could not locate them. Her obit should say where living siblings are. Please let me know of your expenses. If you chose to mail a copy, my address is 8809 FM 779 Alba, TX 75410. 2. Emily
    3. Is there anyone living near the courthouse who would do a search for a probate records and final settlement papers for someone who died in 1898-1900? I would pay costs and a reasonable fee for the help. Also, can anyone tell me what the feed company was that was at 604 S.W. Boulevard (This is probably Kansas City, KS) in 1889-91. Would also like a photo of it, if it's still there. AND...is 2518 Penn, KCMO still standing? Would love a photo of it. Does anyone have an idea what cemetery possibilities would be used by someone living at 2518 Penn at that time? Thanks so much, Emily Oregon

    1. [MOJACKSO] Mary Alice Atkins
    2. Calvin
    3. I am hoping someone can help me piece together my gr-grandmother's last 40 years in Kansas City. Her name was Mary Alice Atkins, which I think she usually went by "Alice". She was born in 1859 in Effingham, ILL to John and Alice Sappington Withers. She married Henry Funk at Hannibal, MO. They divorced in 1908. She then married Richard Atkins. After he passed away, she came to Kansas City. And, there is where I lose track of her. I was always told she lived with a family, and raised their son. I did get a copy of 1933 Kansas City directory. At that time she was living at 3624 Norledge Place. I was wondering if someone could do a look up and see who else lived at that address. I am hoping to maybe find the family she lived with, and hopefully get in touch with that family, if any are still living in Kansas City. Her last couple of years she lived at the Nettleton Home on Swope Parkway. She died July 21, 1951 and is buried at the Elmwood Cemetery on Truman Road. ! Any help with this, would be most appreciated! Calvin

    1. [MOJACKSO] PEEK - McMILLEN (of Kansas City, MO) marriage - 1912
    2. John O'Brien
    3. CHAMBERLAIN, McMILLEN, PEEK "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, July 1, 1912 WED AFTER 2 ELOPEMENTS. After John T. PEEK, 638 Euclid Avenue, and Miss Winifred McMILLEN, daughter of C. H. McMILLEN, 3812 Morrell Avenue, had eloped to Olathe three weeks ago and roused Robert BAKER, the probate judge, Miss McMILLEN changed her mind and decided she did not want to be married. Miss McMILLEN and her sister, Miss Beulah McMILLEN, then made a trip to Denver. PEEK and Miss McMILLEN exchanged several letters. The girl's parents received a letter from her Saturday saying she would return home Saturday night. She returned as near home as the depot. PEEK met her at the train and the Olathe trip was made again. That time the bride had the courage to her convictions. The deputy probate judge, Arch GREEN, was summed from his home in the edge of the town and the two were married in the courthouse at midnight. They did not return to Kansas City. Mrs. Louis H. PEEK, the groom's mother, had not been informed of the marriage nor had the bride's parents until yesterday afternoon. "I'm getting used to being left out of the arrangements," Mrs. PEEK said. "Six years ago my older son, Perry, eloped to Olathe with Miss Angelina CHAMBERLAIN. They kept their marriage a secret two years. He was 19 years old when he married." PEEK is employed by the Stickney Cigar Company. He formerly was assistant secretary to the mayor under the administration of Darius A. BROWN. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================

    2. John O'Brien
    3. "The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Sunday, December 27, 1903 YOUNGER BROTHER SHOT HIM. While out hunting, near Birmingham, yesterday afternoon, Eugene JARMAN, 10 years old, accidentally shot his brother, R. F. JARMAN, a pressman, who lives at 4625 East Tenth street, in the right arm. The charge of rabbit shot entered the arm just above the elbow, tearing it almost off. JARMAN had his arm dressed temporarily at Birmingham yesterday and came to Kansas City on the evening train. He was sent to the city hospital, where it is said the arm will have to be amputated. The JARMAN brothers left Kansas City for a hunting trip yesterday morning, in company with Frank MORRIS, of 2427 Cherry street. At noon, the three stopped to eat lunch. They had been carrying their guns cocked, and before they sat down to lunch, started to lower the hammers. Young JARMAN had the muzzle of his gun pointed toward his brother and let the hammer slip. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
