    3. Misty, Thanks for the suggestions and offer of help. I am loking for Sylvester Halamick who died on 28 Aug 1961 in KC, MO. 3. Misty, you're fabulous! I was still thinking about how to find them! I fear, however, that M. Audrey Reach had lost contact with the family. Her parents are buried in New Orleans' Greenwood Cemetery, without any of the children. Probably their above ground "New Orleans" tomb is full. We visited the cemtery two years ago and they couldn't tell us any more. Thanks again. 1. Re: [MOJACKSO] Where is BLUE TWP?
    2. Blue Township is bounded roughly by 24 Highway on the north (in Independence) to 59th St. on the south (Raytown) and from the west side of the Little Blue River (looking at the northern part of the township because the river runs somewhat northeasterly; this is in Kansas City) to 1/4 mile east of Lee's Summit Rd. (also in Independence). Most of this is Independence now but not all. I just took a quick look at a topographic map to get the boundaries. If you don't know the area my description may not help you much. I'll be glad to help to pin down anything closer if I can; I don't live in Jackson Co. now so I would have to be able to look it up on a map or that it might be something I'd know from having lived there most of my life. 1. [MOJACKSO] Where is BLUE TWP?
    2. Where is that Blue Twp in 1860 in this county? Its census is stated that my ancestors lived there. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Re: [MOJACKSO] Elwoods of Johnson County, MO
    2. Misty, I have a KC area Yellow Pages from 2000 (I moved out of the KC area a couple of years ago but have the book) which lists Johnson County Funeral Chapel-Mausoleum & Cemetery at 11200 Metcalf Ave., phone 913-451-1860. This looks like the right place in spite of the difference in name; nothing else comes close. Metcalf is Highway 69, and this is in Johnson Co. KS, not MO, which I would expect from the other locations in the obit -- Roeland Park, Overland Park, Shawnee Mission, and Shawnee; Raytown is on the Missouri side. The funeral home is listed as Newcomer's DW Sons Funeral Homes Missouri General Office 1331 Brush Creek Blvd -------------- 816-561-0024 Newcomer's has a number of locations all over the metro area on both sides of the state line. They handled both my grandparent's funerals. Vanette

    3. Hi My name is Jean-Marie Aubert, I am a native of France and live in the city of Marseilles in the South-East of France. I have been researching my family's ancestry, and would specifically like to find out more about my grandfather's brother, Auguste Aubert. August was born in Marseilles in 1884. He emigrated to the US in 1903 and was naturalized in 1906. In 1920 he was a cook at the Main Street Hotel in Kansas City. (Fourteenth census of US 1920 population (Line 63) August worked in the years 1920 / 1930 in a French restaurant in Kansas City. A French politician came in visit to Kansas City at that time and ate in the restaurant where August worked. August wrote this in a letter addressed to my grandfather. I would like to get in contact with his descendants and exchange any type of information on our possibly common ancestors. I can be contacted at the following address: Jean-Marie Aubert 6 Rue Paul Matton 13014 Marseille France Email : aubertjmr@wanadoo.fr Thanking you in advance for your help Yours sincerely - - Jean-Marie Mon site : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/genealogie.aubert.jm

    1. [MOJACKSO] May STUDEBAKER - Kansas City, MO - 1904
    2. John O'Brien
    3. "The Kansas City Journal" (Missouri) Sunday, January 3, 1904 BETTER HAVE HIRED A HACK. For calling the ambulance out on a stormy night, May STUDEBAKER was fined $10 in police court yesterday morning. On Friday night she had her friends telephone to the police that she had attempted suicide. When the police surgeon arrived, it was found there was nothing wrong with her except that she had been drinking. It was found by looking over the surgeons' record that she had brought the ambulance out once before on a "fake" suicide call. Judge Brady thought $5 for each call would be about right as a recompense. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
