    1. [MOJACKSO] Gordon M. Hall
    2. Bev Harris
    3. I have some information on whom a daughter of Gordon & Bettie Hall married. She married Elmer Adams, Sr., well-known dairyman at Blue Springs, Jackson, MO, back in the 1930's. I am related to this Adams family through both the surnames Harris and Powell. My records show that both Gordon and Bettie (Avalon) Hall were born in Taswell Co., VA. Would be glad to share the information that I have. Also, I am related to the Halls back in Virginia, perhaps this same line of Halls. (Mr.) Bev Harris

    1. [MOJACKSO] What happened to Thomas C. WHITE Jr. (b. c 1872 MN)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: barbeww Surnames: WHITE, GOSLIN Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6163/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thomas C. White Jr. (1872 MN-?) and his wife Frida (Goslin) White (1874 TX-1940 NYC) lived in Kansas City MO in 1900 (Broker, merchandise) and in New Orleans LA in 1910 (Buyer, coffee house). His father, Thomas C. White Sr. (1846 England-1918 MO), and sister, Keziah (White) Ridenour (1874 MN-1940 CA) were connected with the Ridenour-Baker Wholesale Co. The last record I've found for Thomas Jr. was his arrival on the Oscar II 21 Jun 1916 from Copenhagen to New York, at which time he gave an address in New York City. On 1 Nov of the same year, Thomas's wife Frida arrived, also on the Oscar II, in New York from Copenhagen, with a passport issued 8 Aug 1916, and gave her address as 114 W. 79th Str. New York, N.Y. Thomas's father's 31 Jan 1918 obituary in the Kansas City Star says he was survived by two sons, both of whom I can identify, and neither of which is Thomas Jr. Widow Frida G. White was in NYC in 1920 and 1930, and died there in 1940. Her death notice referred to her as the "widow of the late Thomas C. White, Jr. of Kansas City" and, in addition to her death notice, the New York Times published an article about the disposition of her estate, which was largely given to metro New York charities. I have found no notice or record of Thomas Jr.'s death in New York City between 21 Jun 1916 (passenger manifest) to 30 Jan 1918 (father's death) or in the Missouri death certificates. NewspaperArchive briefly offered the Kansas City papers (long enough for me to find his father's obit), but no longer does. Any help or ideas for finding Thomas Jr.'s death information would be most appreciated. Is there an index to the KC papers that would cover that 18-month period? 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: cyndalee Surnames: Carneal Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.jackson/6161/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Flemming Carneal Estate papers contains purchase dated June 29, 1848 for purchases by Thomas Carneal; bill receipt for funeral expenses of George T. Carneal, deceased, produced against Estate by Thos Carneal D., bill receipt for singing school submitted by Thomas Carneal D. 1849 and Final Settlement Papers dated 1852 for Flemming Carneal Estate reflect monies rec'd of Thomas Carneal... what does the letter D. following Thomas' name mean -is it significant in some way? It does not appear to be a first initial or middle initial. Also, Fleming died without a will and a statement dated 1851 states there are 4 heirs at this time..all heirs identified in the papers not including Thomas - would Thomas be entitled to be an heir (son) if there was no will was produced? Why would he pay for singing school and be reimbursed? Cindy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
