I understand your concern over the cost that may be incurred by guessing when an ancestor may have passed---especially when you are searching more than one surname at the same time. that's when the dollars really add up. The information I'm giving you is not what you asked for. But it may lead you somewhere. John may have spent most of his life in Missouri but that doesn't necessarily mean he died there. Maybe he died in Kansas or Illinois, or some place else. I point this out from personal experience. My great grandmother lived in Kansas and died in a freak accident in Missouri while visiting family. I hope some of the following information is helpful to you. And I will keep searching to see if I can find John's death date. Hold tight. We'll find it. I'll ask my genealogy friend if she can help with her ancestry subscription. So if I'm bad at guessing, which I am, the search for these two certificates could cost me $52 or more. I thought it was worth a chance to see if someone might come up with their obits or possibly cemetery records. Thanks, JR for your suggestion but I think I'll hope someone can find an obit - for which I'm quite happy to remit a modest sum. You can usually get a death certificate for about $20.00. This will give you date and place of death and burial. You can then check the local newspaper for Obit. It has been a number of years since your post. I hope you get this. I am particularly interested in the daughter bore between William Eby Logan, Sr. and Connie Workman had together. Her name is (and I am not real sure of the spelling) Katherine or Kathryn Mae Logan. I can't find a thing on her, but I have several letters from her to her father William and to her brother, William, Jr. when she was married to a Ben Broadhurst. She was expecting a baby, and her letters indicated that she did not feel well. She would have given birth sometime around November 1939. She may have died in childbirth, but again we are not at all sure. Thank you. Connie Logan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
