My Thomas Hagan(s) was a member of a Baptist church in NC in the 1770s. I've always assumed the family was involved with a Baptist church when they went to KY, but haven't been able to find anything there. They were Baptists when they went to MO also. How do I find out about the Hagan and Hagans listed on your site in the surnames? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert L Webb" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 4:42 PM Subject: [MOJACKSO] Research on Mormon/Anti-Mormon Struggle in HancockCounty, Illinois > I've recently done some research on the old log New Harmony Church, and > the role of Colonel Levi Williams, and the Militia Under His Command, in > the Expulsion of the Mormons from Hancock County, Illinois, in 1845 and > 1846. I've recently done some research on the old log New Harmony Church, and the role of Colonel Levi Williams, and the Militia Under His Command, in the Expulsion of the Mormons from Hancock County, Illinois, in 1845 and 1846. The Old Carthage Jail where matters came to a head in 1844, is located just two blocks from my office/library, so I have included a digital photo of the old jail in my article. This article may be seen by going to the following website and clicking on the link at the top of our home page: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html After nearly a year of careful study, I've finished the above article, but I still welcome questions, comments, corrections, or additional information, to help me improve it. The article includes the names of over 400 men who composed several companies of the Illinois Militia in western Hancock County. I would like to learn more about the men in these militia companies. Included with the article are extensive reference lists, showing the material I used in writing the article, which I hope might be helpful to others, even if they do not agree with me.
